Multiplication is also done from left to right. So 237 X 2 is done. 4,6,14 = 474.

Vedic Maths - On the flag
Vedic Maths is done from left to right, because that is the way we write and the way we call out the answer. So adding 45 + 38 we do 4+3 = 7, then 8 + 5 = 13. Since 13 is a two figure number we carry this over to the left, and we get 83 as the answer.
Similarly 84 + 58 = 13,12 = 142. Try this yourself, 5 6 + 96. All these examples are taken from the Cosmic Calculator Book 1.
